Disney Vacation Club.

The Disney Vacation Club in our opinion is a modern version of the "Time Share" vacation packages. The benefits of the Disney World Vacation Club is well worth it - if it fits your vacation style.

If you plan to spend 10 -14 days a year at Disney World and prefer to stay in rooms from the higher end such as two bedroom suites than the Vacation Club may be worth it to you. As I understand the program it will take approximately 5 - 7 years to break even comparing the cost of the Vacation Club verses paying published rates for the same rooms.

The comparison does not take into account the numerous specials offers by Disney World from time to time. Therefore the true break even point may be closer from 7-10 years. Now if you are like us and are just as happy with a single room in Animal Kingdom or Caribbean Beach not sure how long it would take to break even.

We sat thru the Vacation Club pitch one afternoon hoping that the plan would save us money as we go at least once a month. We had a couple of different resort appointment makers at the park's Kiosk tell us that we could stay at the Caribbean for only 3-4 points a night. Unfortunately they were way off as it required more of the Disney Vacation Points to stay there than our Home Resort.

Check it out it, may be for you - It sure wasn't for us.
