Visit.
Daughter's
and Grand Daughter's Birthdays
We stayed at the
Caribbean Resort this trip as two rooms is a bit more
affordable here than at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or the
Polynesian. Our rooms were typical Disney resort two double
bed rooms with all the amenities. We had ground floor rooms in
sight of a bus stop, a short walk to the food court and
happily for my wife and daughter close to the smoking area
(YUK).
We decided to eat at
the resorts restaurant "Shutters" because during our
last visit their the food was great and the waiting staff even
better. Unfortunately the male waiter was slow to serve and
the food was under Disney's usual standards. I have always
contended that one of Disney's failings is consistency. When
ask by the manager regarding our dining experience, they
Comped our meals and apologized. With the extra sit down meal
left over from this meal we gave them another try for lunch
later in the visit and the food was fine.
We
did our usual Princesses character lunch at Akershus Royal
Banquet Hall in Epcot's Norway. The buffet portion of the meal
is consistently fresh and flavorful, however the entries are
not the best in our opinions. We all just pick the one that is
least gross to us. (So you might ask, why do we keep
going back if the food is not to our liking. Grand
Daughters - Princesses and we can never obtain reservations at
Cinderella's Royal Table for a character Lunch).
While in Epcot we
always pick a pearl or two or three in Japan, ride Soaring,
Mission Space, Illuminations and more. This trip my daughter
and Grand Daughter attempted to get me on the Tower of Terror,
Everest, Splash Mountain and Rock n Roller Coaster. They had
an absolute blast and the little one declared the rides to be
the best day of her life. I keep having to remind them that
Grandpa is a chicken and ain't getting on them. I have no
problem screaming thru traffic at 120 miles an hour with Siren
and lights, however I am not getting on one of those rides.
Yep I scream like a little girl. ( PS. Grandmas declined as
well).
We hit as many rides
and attractions as we could to keep the little Princess happy
- Her Disney visiting theory is if you aren't on a ride you
aren't having any fun!
Because my wife and I
had company on this trip she did not spend much time trading
for pins until the end of the trip. Our Grand daughter figured
out the concept of Pin trading and jumped in with both feet. I
believe with some help from Grandma and many by herself, she
traded into over 30 new pins.
Once again it appeared
that Disney knew which Park we wanted to go to on a given day
and hid the buses to the park we wished to visit.
The weather was
perfect this visit, no rain and not to hot for an enjoyable
day with shorts and evening with light long sleeve shirts.
A Magical time was had by all. My wife and I are looking
forward to our June Disney trip.
