October 2010 Visit.
We arrived on time and made our way to the Caribbean
Beach Resort in hopes of securing a room in the usual court
yard in Trinidad North. The concierge whom we always work with
got us our room of choice and it was ready when we checked in
at 2:30. In no time Carolyn and I had trading pins in our
pocket and were off for the Magic Kingdom for Fudge and a
round of Pin Trading. Wow what a crowd, you would have thought
it was spring break or the 4th of July Weekend, The line for
the Pirates of the Caribbean was zigzagged outside the
building and into the main pathway. The Haunted Mansion for
the 1st time was strung all the way back to the entrance to
the River Boat. Of course we road both!
As you may remember last year Carolyn and I were able to
preview the refurbished Hall of Presidents. We visited the
Hall and wouldn't you know it the number of people applauding
for Obama was way Way WAY down. In fact there was a number of
hisses and boos.
The 10-10-10 event hours had been changed from 10:20 am
- 8:10pm to 8am -3pm. Although the rules stated no one was to
line up prior to 6:30am, the line started at a little past
5am. We did not arrive until 9:30 am and Carolyn still was
able to get all the Pins they wanted. The only pins to sell
out at the event was the Mystery Packages (Imagine that), the
Pin Pouch with 4 pins and the Jumbo. All the left over pins
were taken to the Yacht Club store and than to downtown Disney
Pin shop.
The food and wine festival was going full force with
tasty and some not so tasty treats at every corner. Not to
mention the major number of drunks staggering from wine and
beer booth to booth.
We traded many pins at the Epcot trading tables. Meet
some great pin trades of all ages.
Odd things seen: A group of foreign folks sitting right
outside Mouse Gear with their 4 year old who was sucking on a
pacifier, holding a blanket while pooping in a baggy. Oh yes,
while the family applauded. Oddest thing yet.
Another great Disney visit and I am not just saying this
because I beat Carolyn at Toy Store for the second time out of
about 50 attempts.
Disney travel tip form
Carolyn : If you forget your shower cap the plastic bag that
covers the coffee maker at the Caribbean Resort rooms makes a
great shower cap.
